Why do people stop working towards achieving their dreams?

Hope this helps clear it up a bit. Is my personal experience, it doesn't have to be this.

I was born with plenty of..talent. I loved singing, and dreamed about being a singer, but i was told that I wasn't pretty enough, and did i have a voice! I loved drawing but my mom kept on telling me how useless that is and that artists die in hunger. I loved justice, and wanted to become a judge, but my parents kept on telling me that i am not smart enough. So.. I gave up on doing things i loved and dreamed about. Now, I started dreaming again, now, when there is no influence arround me anymore to suppress who i am, but following my dream now comes at a cost; a cost i can not afford. I didn't give up on this one yet but seems financially impossible.

:not enough support

How long will it take for the USA to effectively remove it self from the global economy that many US politicians especially Donald Trump seems to dislike? Will this isolationist policy last after his presidency or will it be quickly dropped?

Telling others about your dreams. They can then ridiculize you. And you can begin to kind of..back off.

There's a bunch of reasons that i can think of right now.

My religion teacher said that there are no atheists because in order to reject God, you must first have a concept of God, and if you have a concept of God, you are not an atheist. In what way is this true, if at all? Why?
